Privacy Policy

Overview

RoughTake is an audio scratchpad for musicians. This policy explains how the RoughTake Android app handles information in its current beta version.

Audio recordings and app data

RoughTake stores recordings and associated app data locally on your device. This can include Take titles, BPM, tuning, folders, notes, timestamped notes, and other recording details you choose to enter.

RoughTake does not require an account for the current beta and does not upload your recordings to a RoughTake cloud service.

Microphone access

RoughTake requests access to your device microphone so you can record audio. Microphone access is used only when required for recording features initiated by you.

Sharing

If you choose to share a Take, RoughTake uses Android's system sharing interface. The destination you select may be operated by a third party, and information shared with that service is subject to that service's own privacy practices.

Data collection

The current RoughTake beta is designed as a local-first app and does not require sign-in. RoughTake does not intentionally collect your recordings or notes on RoughTake-operated servers in the current beta.

Children's privacy

RoughTake is intended as a general music-creation utility and is not specifically directed to children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as RoughTake adds features. If cloud services, accounts, analytics, subscriptions, collaboration, or other data-handling features are introduced, this policy will be updated to describe those practices.
